On 26 August last, the presentation of the the first action of the Almuñécar Town Council's Tourism Sustainability Plan.. Daniel BarberoDeputy Mayor and Councillor for Tourism and Beaches, Alberto GarcíaCouncillor for Culture, Felipe PuertasDirector of the Tourist Board and Luis Alberto MeleroCOO of Aumentur, presented the implementation of the smart tourism platform in Almuñécar-La Herradura.

‘Desde el Patronato de Turismo de Almuñécar-La Herradura nos preguntábamos cómo podíamos atraer nuevos visitantes, cómo promocionar la oferta turística, cómo podíamos impulsar convertirnos en un destino turístico inteligente y a la vez cómo podemos tener una guía multimedia para nuestros recursos turísticos, patrimoniales e históricos, de una easy, sustainable and accessible to alland visitors. In this respect, the Aumentur platform gives us answers to these questions and, in addition, provides us with greater tourist visibility, given that Aumentur is also in other cities such as Oviedo, Ceuta or Granada', said Daniel Barbero.

In this way, the partnership with Aumentur becomes the most important first action by Almuñécar Town Council as part of the Tourism Sustainability Plan. 20m from the European ERDF funds.

Luis Alberto MeleroCOO of Aumentur, highlighted the important progress that the implementation of this smart tourism platform means for Almuñécar 'Aumentur is a free app that allows you to offer  accessible content in a multitude of multimedia formats, para que la experiencia turística al visitar Almuñécar – La Herradura sea enriquecedora y gratificante’.

The Councillor for Culture, Alberto García has highlighted the important role of Aumentur in the dissemination of a historical and cultural heritage with more than 3,000 years of history "with tools like Aumentur, we are once again at the forefront of the dissemination of heritage value of Almuñécar in order to be able to offer the best of ourselves to our visitors".

Felipe Puertasfor his part, stressed the importance that Aumentur forms part of the technological solutions recognised by SEGITTUR for ITDs, having been awarded and recognised at national and international events such as TIS, FITUR, among others.

The following have been submitted 8 packs with a variety of tourist and cultural contents that can be enjoyed in up to five languages and containing descriptive audio clips, stories and anecdotes about the places to visit accompanied by illustrative photographs and videos.
The tourist destination of Almuñécar is now available at the start of the application, by putting itself in the hands of the thousands of national and international tourists who already use Aumentur on their mobile phones.

Almuñécar's collaboration with Aumentur is a living project, which allows us to update the contents and adapt them to the needs of the destination and the tourist. We are already working on updating the content for important events such as Easter or the Christmas Nativity Scenes,' said Daniel Barbero at the end of the event.
