The Junta de Andalucía has opened the application period to apply for subsidies to local entities declared "Tourist Municipality of Andalusia". These grants are aimed at the promotion of the tourist-cultural heritage, promoting quality in the provision of municipal services to all tourists (MUNITUR), as described in the BOJA.
In this sense, the call for proposals is endowed with 4 million euros, to be distributed in two annual instalments. This aid is intended to subsidise:
a) Improving the quality of public spaces of touristic-cultural interest.by providing material or equipment for these spaces.
b) Actions to achieve universal accessibility of tourist-cultural resourcesin such a way as to allow its enjoyment by all people in accordance with the principle of "Design for All". These actions may consist of, among others, the removal of architectural barriers, the adaptation of spaces for people with reduced mobility and initiatives to facilitate cognitive accessibility, ensuring understanding and orientation in the environment and information for those who may have difficulties in understanding.
c) Actions to recover and enhance the tourist value of elements of cultural heritage., tales como Centros de Interpretación y Centros de Visitantes, infraestructuras de carácter agrario o industrial en desuso (silos, estaciones de tren, factorías…), etc.
d) Creation and improvement of tourist infrastructures in areas of tourist-cultural interest..
e) Actions to improve tourist signposting in cultural areas and landscapes.
f) Adaptation of tourism and cultural resources to new technologies..
g) Implementation of tourist routes in cultural areas and landscapes,
