The text describes the Lecrín Valley, located in the south of Granada, between Motril and the Alhambra, near the Suspiro del Moro pass at an altitude of 860 metres. This valley, bordered by the Sierra Nevada to the west and the Sierra de Los Guájares to the south, enjoys a microclimate that favours landscapes of serene beauty and Mediterranean crops. Within the valley lies Nigüelas, part of the Sierra Nevada Natural Park, notable for the Cerro del Caballo, one of the highest peaks in the region at 3,300 metres.
