This Cordovan municipality, located in the east of the province and bordering Jaén, is in the foothills of the Sierra Morena, with the Guadalquivir River as its border with the countryside. Its landscape is defined by the mountains, which form part of the Sierra de Cardeña y Montoro Nature Reserve, the river and the olive groves. Its Iberian, Greek, Roman and Muslim past stands out, and it was declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1969. It offers attractions such as the bridge over the river, the Church of San Bartolomé and its famous Easter Week, being part of the Betic-Roman Route.
